Our social impact commitment
At Sandy Snoots, we are committed to operating in a socially responsible and ethical way that respects the wellbeing, rights and interests of people across our business — including designers, manufacturing partners, customers and the broader community.
As a small, founder-led brand, our social impact is shaped by the choices we make every day. We recognise that this impact will evolve as the business grows, and our approach is grounded in transparency, realistic goals and a commitment to continuous improvement informed by learning, engagement and responsible decision-making.
Our social approach aligns with relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Gender Equality, Good Health and Wellbeing, and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.
Where we’re focused today
At our current scale, the areas that most influence Sandy Snoots’ social impact include:
-
Supplier, designer and manufacturing relationships
-
Product safety and customer experience
-
Marketing, representation and communication practices
-
Data privacy and digital operations
We work closely with Australian-based designers and manufacturing partners, supporting local skills and businesses and ensuring our products are made in environments accountable to Australian labour, safety and workplace laws. Transparency is important to us, and we aim to be open about who designs and makes our products, including sharing this information publicly where possible.
Governance and accountability are founder-led, with values-based decision-making embedded across day-to-day operations.
How we operate responsibly
Social considerations are integrated into both operational and long-term decisions across the business. This includes:
Ethical work and supply chain practices
We work with Australian-based designers and manufacturing partners who comply with local labour laws and workplace safety requirements. We maintain a zero-tolerance approach to forced labour, child labour or unsafe working conditions, and value respectful, transparent and long-term relationships across our supply chain.
We also support inclusive employment by working with Australian partners that provide meaningful work opportunities for people with disability.
Fairness, inclusion and representation
We aim to ensure our marketing, imagery and communications are inclusive, respectful and accurate, and avoid misleading, exploitative or exclusionary representations.
Customer wellbeing and product responsibility
We design products that are safe, fit for purpose and clearly communicated, supported by transparent product information, sizing guidance and care instructions to promote safe and confident use.
We aim to make our products accessible to as many dogs and dog owners as possible by offering inclusive sizing across both our dogwear and dog-mum styles.
We also support our coastal community through ongoing monthly donations to the Surf Life Saving Foundation, recognising the important role surf lifesavers play in public safety.
Data privacy and digital responsibility
We respect customer privacy and manage personal data responsibly, in line with Australian privacy requirements and best-practice digital standards.
Looking ahead
As Sandy Snoots grows, we are committed to:
-
Continuing to build our understanding of social impacts across our value chain
-
Formalising ethical standards through tools such as a Supplier Code of Conduct
-
Increasing transparency in designer, supplier and manufacturing relationships as scale allows
-
Strengthening inclusion and representation across marketing and communications
-
Reviewing governance structures as the business grows to support accountability
Social responsibility at Sandy Snoots is founder-led. As the sole decision-maker, the founder is accountable for embedding ethical and socially responsible practices into supplier relationships, product development, customer experience and everyday business operations, and for reviewing and evolving this commitment over time.
