Our environmental commitment
At Sandy Snoots, we believe that caring for dogs also means caring for the world they explore. We are committed to understanding, managing and progressively reducing our environmental impact across all areas of our business — from product design and material selection through to manufacturing, packaging and everyday decision-making.
We operate as a slow fashion brand, producing thoughtfully designed products in controlled quantities. Rather than chasing fast production cycles or short-lived trends, we focus on durability, longevity and timeless design. By making fewer, better products, we aim to reduce unnecessary waste and support longer product lifecycles.
As a small, founder-led business, we recognise that our environmental impact — and our ability to influence it — will evolve over time. Our approach is grounded in transparency about where we are today, realistic future goals, and a commitment to continuous improvement as our knowledge, resources and scale grow.
Our environmental approach aligns with relevant United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life on Land, Life Below Water, and Clean Water and Sanitation. These principles help guide our focus on reducing waste, protecting natural ecosystems and supporting responsible production practices.
Where we’re focused today
At our current scale, the areas that most influence our environmental impact include:
-
Material selection and product design
-
Small-run manufacturing volumes
-
Packaging choices
We currently work to reduce our impact by:
-
Producing in limited, considered quantities to avoid overproduction
-
Designing products for durability, repeated use and long-term wear
-
Limiting unnecessary material complexity wherever possible
-
Using eco-conscious packaging options and minimising packaging waste
Where possible, we prioritise eco-conscious and lower-impact fabrics, including recycled fibres, while ensuring each material meets our performance, comfort and sun-protection standards.
How we make decisions
Environmental considerations are part of both our day-to-day and long-term decision-making. This includes:
-
Considering environmental impacts when selecting materials, suppliers and packaging
-
Balancing performance, sun protection, durability and environmental outcomes in product development
-
Avoiding unnecessary production, excess inventory and waste wherever possible
As a slow fashion brand, we value thoughtful development timelines, intentional releases and continuous refinement over rapid product turnover.
Looking ahead
As Sandy Snoots grows, we are committed to:
-
Continuing to deepen our understanding of the environmental impacts associated with our products and operations
-
Increasing the use of lower-impact or certified materials where suitable
-
Improving supply-chain transparency as scale allows
-
Further reducing packaging impact over time
-
Exploring circular practices, such as repair, reuse or end-of-life considerations, where feasible
Environmental responsibility at Sandy Snoots is founder-led. As the sole decision-maker, the founder is accountable for integrating environmental considerations into product development, supplier selection and everyday business decisions, and for reviewing and evolving this commitment over time.
